The charity ministry organizes fundraising and activities to help those in need. The first Sunday of every month, donations are collected for a group of charities, decided each year at our annual parish meeting. This year, we are collecting donations for the Childrens Hospice in St Petersburg, Russia, the Chinese Translation Project, which works to translate Orthodox texts into Chinese, and the orphanage run by the New Tikhvin Monastery in Yekaterinburg, Russian. In addition to these Sunday collections, food is collected every week for Northwest Harvest. The charity committee has also coordinated giving for the Pike Place Senior Center, made sandwiches for downtown Seattle shelters, helped with Habitat for Humanity, "adopted" a family for Christmas and provided dinners for Tent City.
The church school is currently divided into 2 sections, the "youngers" and the "olders" under the direction of Christine Alexandra, a certified elementary school teacher. Here is the schedule for the school year. The church school can always use additional assistance in the classroom.

The hospitality ministry organizes the fellowship luncheon after Divine Liturgy every Sunday as well as food for special events including Pan-Orthodox Vespers and parish meetings. They are also in charge of cleaning the fellowship hall and temple, upkeep of the grounds, and floral decorations in the church.
The liturgical ministry is under the direction of Father John and includes both serving in the altar as well as singing in the choir. If you feel a calling to either part of this ministry, please contact Father John.
