Parish Council - One of the most important ministries of our parish is the parish council. It helps to administer the parish and assist the rector in his ministry. With the rector serving as president, it consists of six members who are elected to staggered, two-year terms of service. Each year a treasurer is appointed by the council to oversee our parish finances. The treasurer provides monthly and annual financial reports and maintains a confidential record of pledges. Members of the council should be examples to the parish community of leadership in the life of the Church. They must maintain regular communion in the sacraments. Every year, our annual assembly elects its membership by vote. Candidates may be nominated by the council itself and by parishioners from the floor. The bishop has the ultimate authority to confirm the election of new members. The parish council meets on a monthly basis to discuss business. All members of the parish are welcome to attend these meetings. Agendas for them are prepared in advance with the rector's approval, and may include the discussion of matters proposed by parishioners. Minutes of each meeting are kept by a secretary and are made available to the parish (through posting in the parish hall).
